Humanity Forward Urges Bipartisan Action in 2023 Amid Thin Midterm Margins
“We look forward to showing the power of bipartisan advocacy next year, which can bypass partisan gridlock and shifts in power. Our work for the American people will not slow down next year.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Humanity Forward renews its commitment to bipartisan action for the American people today, as results from the 2022 midterm elections come into focus. Thin margins appear likely for both chambers of Congress, highlighting the importance of lawmakers reaching across the aisle for the next two years to pass legislation.
“We don’t have the full picture of the 118th Congress from voters yet, but it seems likely that bipartisanship will be a necessary function for the next two years to move legislation forward,” said Paolo Mastrangelo, Head of Policy and Government Affairs for Humanity Forward.
Humanity Forward has worked with Democrats and Republicans in both chambers of Congress to advance solutions for the day-to-day challenges that millions of American families encounter. Policy goals from enhancing the Child Tax Credit, lowering energy costs, and securing American democracy all bear histories of cross-party appeal, making them prime candidates for bipartisan action.
“Humanity Forward’s work with both parties over the past two years in Congress has laid a strong foundation for us to succeed next year and beyond,” said Liam deClive-Lowe, Executive Director for Humanity Forward.
