My family and many others have come to rely on these monthly tax credits for scheduled bills. Now, the struggle to meet even the most basic needs of our families is impossible without the program’s extension.

Out of the entire Build Back Better Bill, one program stands out from the others. It’s the essential monthly Child Tax Credit (CTC).

As a parent of three children, the costs of groceries and clothes have become much more expensive. Now, with inflationary costs driven by foreign conflict and supply issues, it will only worsen. The monthly CTC was an essential relief in helping us budget our expenditures in this uncertain economy.

The costs of groceries and clothes have become much more expensive. Now, with inflationary costs driven by foreign conflict and supply issues, it will only worsen.

Inaction in Congress has unfortunately caused the end of the essential monthly child tax credit payments. As a result, families must adjust and children will do without – despite more price hikes to come.

I appreciate the CTC in helping pay down my mortgage bill, the monthly payments are not taken for granted. However, the fact remains that millions of American families are living paycheck-to-paycheck. My family and many others have come to rely on these monthly tax credits for scheduled bills. Now, the struggle to meet even the most basic needs of our families is impossible without the program’s extension.

I hope our members of Congress can find a way to compromise and therefore bring back this successful monthly tax credit in the very near future. Now is not the time to leave families high and dry.
